stepping stones in the emerald pool

The water falls gently from above this time of year, and the pool is calm.

I love the range of browns, golds, and reds in this part of the country - we have this shot enlarged and framed in our reading room.

After taking a break for our family to entertain swine flu - yes, each of us, staggered out - I am feeling somewhat better and back working on creative ventures. That means writing and photography, so I'll try to find a balance between the two.

@Charles: thank you, Charles - i didn't actually see anyone do that, but it's such a magical place, it's easy to imagine canyon gnomes use the stepping stones at night or in dawn mist (or maybe i just have WAY to active an imagination) ;-)

Very cool vernacular shot, I also like the tans, goldens, and browns of the shot, and the texture of the rocks and sandy area. Very nifty! : )
